2.43: Seiin Koukou Danshi Volley-bu Episode 8 Discussion & Gallery

Now that 2.43 Seiin Koukou Danshi Volley-bu is focusing more on volleyball and less on drama, the Anime is far more exciting. Episode eight is excellent proof of that, as I don’t have any negative remarks about it. The episode was fun to watch, and I believe the creators did a great job managing the game and its mental implications. In other words, even the easiest games can lead to a loss if players don’t keep their heads in the game.

It was also impressive to see Kimichika losing his cool for a second. Until now, he was always the one who kept overperforming, even when the team was in a pinch. This time around, he was the one messing up because of the words the coach said to him. Although this threw the team out of the loop for one set, the coach was right to ask Kimichika to put himself on the line the same way he asked his teammates. As a result, the team came out stronger and will be better prepared to go against Subaru’s team.

It’s interesting how teams never completely destroy their opponents. This translates well how volleyball scores work in real life.
