2.43: Seiin Koukou Danshi Volley-bu Episode 9 Discussion & Gallery
It’s like I said before, the moment 2.43: Seiin Koukou Danshi Volley-bu decided to back up on the unnecessary drama, the Anime has become far more enjoyable. Even though episode nine was more of a transactional episode, bridging the story from one game to another, the pace was quite alright, and the episode was interesting to watch.
I’m not sure if it’s that worthwhile to have Subaru go through the same problem again, though. I mean, it’s just the perfect way for the creators to have the character do its best to reach the finals this year, isn’t it? Since both of his knees are going to need surgery, which will prevent him from playing volleyball throughout his high school years, he’ll certainly give the 120% to win the game against our protagonists. However, they’re just pushing the same problem again, and although I know athletes’ injuries come back to haunt their careers more often than not, it doesn’t really offer something new to the Anime.
I was more impressed with Seiin’s practice. Considering that we already had so many episodes focusing on a similar set, it’s nice to see that the authors are able to keep such scenes fresh. In this case, the training was somewhat exciting to watch because there was a bit of a competition going on. It’s not as good as having a full game, I know, but at least it made this (needed) episode flow smoother. Did you enjoy 2.43: Seiin Koukou Danshi Volley-bu episode nine?
