Higurashi no Naku Koro ni Episode 7 Discussion & Gallery

Keiichi is probably the worst liar I’ve ever met. Really, how is it possible that not one thing that came out from his mouth after searching the warehouse sounded at least a bit truthful? And let’s not speak about the kittens’ story that he told Rika. Did he actually think that she wouldn’t understand what he meant? Besides, it’s clear that she has a tight connection with the religion, so she should be the last person to confess about the warehouse visit. Keiichi’s dumbness aside, Higurashi no Nako Koro Ni Gou episode seven was great and provided important entail about the story. My only pet peeve is that most of the episode is spent on a dark warehouse, which makes it difficult to take good screenshots. But for the spookiness effect, I’ll let it slide.

When it comes to the plot behind the village’s religion – it’s quite dark. Basically, the Anime hints about cannibalism, and I think we can guess that the main female characters are descendants of the demons who were transformed into humans by the village’s Deity. I’m not sure where the story is going, though. Meaning, I don’t know if it’s going to have a more fantasy-like approach where the Demons were actually real, or it’s just a bedtime story to explain what actually happened. For example, the demons can just be humans that eat other humans’ flesh. It’s still foggy, but I’m quite happy with this turn of events.

Another thing I liked a lot was Rika’s twisted personality. She’s one of the cutest of the bunch (and she seems to be the only one who knows what’s going on). However, this time around, she seems the one to be possessed by the Deity. Well, we’ll have to see – the photographer and his girlfriend are already out of the picture. Now, we just need to see whether Shion and Keichii are able to survive. On another note, was I the only one who found it weird that Shion and Mion’s father is the village’s mafia boss? How the hell didn’t we know about this already? Also, why do the girls have to work? Mafia bosses are usually quite wealthy, right? Did you enjoy Higurashi no Nako Koro Ni Gou episode seven?
