Horimiya Episode 10 Discussion & Gallery

Horimiya Episode 10 Discussion & Gallery

My relationship with Horimiya is starting to become a love-hate kind of thing. I already mentioned how I didn’t like the way the Anime was displaying a masochist relationship. This time around, I didn’t find the joke about Hori being afraid of losing Miyamura to a guy funny. I know I’m reading too much into it. But from someone who’s part of the LGBTQ+ community, it didn’t sit right with me. I mean, what if Miyamura is bisexual and falls in love with a guy? Is that really a problem? It doesn’t make Hori a worse or better girlfriend. I don’t know, but the joke came out a little bit homophobic. And yes, it’s only an Anime. But at the same time, it’s also produced in a country where LGBTQ+ people aren’t accepted that well.

Anyway, episode 10 focused mainly on Yuki and Tooru. I have to say, Yuki is an extremely complex girl! It just amazes me the long way she goes to show that she loves Tooru, when she could have been upfront to him. Don’t take me wrong – it’s well-executed. Not only it portrays the character’s personality, but even the usual way girls go over love in Japanese culture. However, I thought she would have a bigger development on this episode, as she felt pretty bad about this side of her. She knows what she’s doing is wrong, but I guess she’s just too scared to change any of it.

Still, the scene where Tooru says that he loves the snow was heartwarming. He’s basically the best guy in the Anime! And, of course, comparing the seasons with both girls’ names was kind of poetic. The only thing this scene needed was a kiss in the end. But I guess that would go against the characters’ personalities. Did you enjoy Horimiya’s episode 10? Tell me everything down below. ?

I’ll be adding new galleries throughout the season as new episodes come out. Enjoy! If you have a website and want to use one of my images, feel free to do so. I’ll be happy if you backlink to this article, but it’s not mandatory.
