Jujutsu Kaisen Episode 3 Discussion & Gallery

If you ever wondered how to introduce new characters, I highly advise you to watch Jujutsu Kaisen’s episode 3. It’s surprising how the creators are able to maintain a smooth and exciting flow right off the bat. The team behind The God of High School should definitely take notes.

The episode focuses on Nobara Kugisaki – the new (and last) member of this strange exorcist group. It’s refreshing to see that the episode explained extremely well her background without lacking the important comedic and action scenes. In short, episode 3 was well-rounded and delivered everything you could wish for. On the one hand, you have a heartwarming background story that creates a complex character off the bat, making you care for Nobara right away. On the other hand, you have Nobara and Yuuji comic personalities all over the place for a much-needed laugh. Simultaneously, the episode still features a few battles against minor curses, which allows us to see Nobara’s powers. It was an interesting skill, that’s for sure. While I’m not loving the heart imprinted in the hammer, I’m surprised by the creativity behind such power.

Fred from aunautral made an interesting comment the other day. They said that the main characters reminded them a lot of Naruto, Kakashi, and Sasuke. I agree. It’s one of those things that when you see it, you can’t unsee it. While Naruto and Yuuji both have a demon living inside them and share an explosive personality, attacking before thinking, Megami is more cool-headed and strategist (same as Sasuke). The resemblance between Satoru and Kakashi is also remarkable – they both arrive late because they lose track of time with the simplest things, and they hide part of their face with a mask. Things get even crazier when you notice that Nobara shares some traits with Sakura. They’re hot-headed and easily attack the main character, and while they both try to look cool, they’re actually pretty excitable. Did you enjoy Jujutsu Kaisen’s episode 3?
