Kimi to Boku no Saigo Episode 2 Discussion & Gallery

Well, it seems I was correct – Kimi to Boku no Saigo no Senjou (thankfully) is going to focus a little bit on the romance between Aliceliese and Iska. Episode two was proof of that, and I couldn’t be happier. Honestly, the show continues to be too weak to be a good war story. The reason behind why there’s a war isn’t that great, to begin with. So, by focusing on this Romeo and Juliet type of story, Kimi to Boku no Saigo can be quite entertaining, as I won’t be nitpicking the background story as much.

That being said, the reasons that put these characters together continue to be mindboggling. When you’re writing a story, I always heard that you can create any type of reason to place the characters in some sort of predicament, but not to get them out of such difficulties. However, Kimo to Boku no Saigo no Senjou really goes above and beyond to create the strangest events. I never heard about a restaurant that allows you to sit on a table that’s already booked because they’re full. Is that really a thing? It doesn’t make any sense to me – the moment you book a table at a restaurant, you’ll think that the table is going to be yours, that’s it. Yet here we are. The way the creators were able to sit Aliceliese and Iska at the same table, making them speak with each other, was by having Aliceliese going to a restaurant without booking it in advance, and since the place is full, she ends up sitting at Iska’s table. I mean, they don’t even ask Iska if he’s ok with it… For me, it’s just bad customer service.

Anyways, let’s put my rambling aside and just focus on the matter at hand – Aliceliese and Iska’s romance. It’s cute, I have to say that. They make a nice couple, and I’ll be more than happy to see them fight their inner selves when the time to choose between their nation and loved one appears. If the story is able to create a decent (and logical) plot with that, I’m more than happy spending my precious time watching Kimi to Boku no Saigo no Senjou. Did you enjoy the episode?
