Kumo Desu ga, Nani ka? Episode 2 Discussion & Gallery

Kumo Desu ga, Nani ka? episode two started with a nice question. As we get a bit more info on who was Kumoko’s bully, we realize that her vile classmate has reincarnated into a pet. Feirune itself asks herself if her fate was the outcome of being such a bad person in her past life. Well – considering that the one who was getting bullied got reincarnated as a spider, she’s probably wrong. However, it’s true that by being a spider who can level by honing her skills, Kumoko might gather the tools she needs to get revenge. So, maybe it’s fitting she was reincarnated into a ‘monster’.

In the last episode, I already commented that I can’t see how Kumoko will be able to communicate with her past classmates. After watching the scene where humans burned her house not once, but twice, my fears are just getting worse. Still, I’m not even sure if I want Kumoko to befriend her past classmates. They clearly were a stupid bunch and, even though Feirune seems to have some regrets, I don’t think she deserves the friendship of such a cool and funny spider.

The animation of the fight between Kumoko against the snake was really well done! I already knew that the animation was great (even if in 3D) because of the spider’s detailed movements. But this time around, Kumo Desu ga, Nani ka? showed that it has what it’s needed to offer some neat battles down the line. Did you enjoy Kumo Desu ga, Nani ka? episode two?
