Kumo Desu ga, Nani ka? Episode 8 Discussion & Gallery

Who would have thought that I would praise the Kumo Desu ga, Nani ka’s human side of the story? Half of episode eight was spent on Shun’s perspective when the students were still living in the real world, and I actually got interested. I think that this part of the story has finally grown on me. If in the beginning the other students just seemed to be distractions from Kumoko’s hilarious scenes, they are now an important element that makes the story more interesting.

In fact, I didn’t enjoy Kumoko’s part as much this time around. The Anime continues to focus on her skills, which is something that is becoming a bit boring due to the repetition. I understand that she still needs to level a bit until she can actually advance on the dungeon she’s on, but it’s been way too many episodes on that lava cavern.

I’m also not sure if adding a third Kumoko to the game is going to improve her funny bits. Honestly, the execution of such skill isn’t as good as I would think. The character actually became less funny now that three different Kumokos are speaking with each other all the time. Maybe it’s just, but I preferred when Kumoko was able to fight and think simultaneously, without the need for multiple consciences. Did you enjoy Kumo Desu ga, Nina ka’s episode eight?
