Majo no Tabitabi Episode 2 Discussion & Gallery
Well, it seems I was correct when I said that Majo no Tabitabi was going for an episodical type of story. At least the second episode seems proof of that. I wasn’t expecting that Elaina would be 18, though – two years passed by without us seeing anything. But, considering she was already traveling around the world, I wonder what kind of adventures she got herself into throughout those years.
But let’s focus on episode two. The animation continues to surprise. It’s extremely well done. I already noticed that in the first episode, but it’s nice to see that the creators were able to deliver the same quality. Many Anime shows go above and beyond on episode one and then drop overall quality right on episode 2. Thankfully, that’s not the case for Majo no Tabitabi.
Regarding the story – I enjoyed it. It was nothing special, but it was good enough. I liked to watch Elaina teaching another character right after seeing her being the pupil, and I loved how she applied some of Flan’s teaching method. However, I couldn’t care less about Saya. It’s hard to create complex characters overall but giving them 20 minutes to fall in love with them is almost impossible. So, yeah, although I enjoyed episode two, Majo no Tabitabi clearly is having the problems tied to an episodical approach – it’s hard to actually care about anyone besides the main character, even when the episode is focusing on them. I enjoyed Kino’s Journeys. And I am enjoying Elaina’s Journey.
