Noblesse Episode 1 Discussion & Gallery

When I saw that Noblesse was finally coming out this season, I knew that I had to watch it. My best friend has spoken about the title so many times throughout the years that I knew that our friendship would end if I didn’t give it a go (just kidding). Well, the first episode was quite underwhelming. I know that the story is ‘old’, meaning that some overplayed troupes will be there. I don’t mind that. My main problem was the animation.

This is not the first time Noblesse is airing. Back in 2016, an introductory episode – zero – was released. It was around 40 minutes, and I enjoyed it. However, it’s mindboggling how the animation from back there is basically the same as the one we’re watching now. Sure, the Anime should keep the original artwork. But with today’s technology, I don’t understand why they didn’t do a better job. This is especially noticeable when it comes to the slow movement and background characters not moving at all. Still, the small battle animation we got to watch was good enough.

Story-wise, there’s not much to say. The episode focused on M-21 for the most part. I enjoyed that as he joins the ‘group’ in episode zero, and it was nice to learn more about his background, even if no new information was added. Meanwhile, we also got to see the villains for the following episodes, which I guess are alright (?) I don’t really know, will need to watch a few more episodes to have an opinion. What about you?
