Sk8 Episode 1 Discussion & Gallery

I have to be honest. I’m not following Sk8 for the plot… Or the crazy skate moves… Nope… The thing that made me go for it was how cute the main characters look. I know that doesn’t offer much to comment on, but I’ll still try my best!

The animation is quite good, especially the skating scenes. I was a wannabe skater when I was a teenager, and I’m actually proud that I can understand most of the references. Still, the story by itself doesn’t seem to bring much to the table. A foreign guy who used to snowboard moves in, finds a guy who loves skating, and they end up hanging out together. Of course, right on episode one, the foreign guy is able to beat one of the best skaters in the city, even though he only snowboarded so far.

I never skated that well, and I never had the opportunity to snowboard. But I’m guessing there are more differences to them than just sticking your feet to the board. I can’t be 100% sure about this, but the Anime was likely able to piss off both skating and snowboarding lovers. Did you enjoy Sk8 episode 1? Tell me everything down below. ?
