Tatoeba Last Dungeon Episode 12 (Final) Discussion & Gallery

I really don’t know why I expected a more serious finale to Tatoeba Last Dungeon. The Anime has always been random, so it makes sense that the end also comes off as a funny and cute episode. Honestly, the best part is that the Anime hints a season two that I’ll definitely watch!

That being said, the villains actually came out as complex. Each one of them has their own objectives, and besides the dwarf’s goal, which is basically world domination, their goals are understandable. On the one hand, Shoma wants to make sure that Lloyd doesn’t lose interest in this world as he did. So, the only way is to find the most challenging events for the protagonist to resolve. On the other hand, Sou wants to make Lloyd a hero, so he can die.

Of course, this makes for a hilarious final battle. I mean, the main villain just goes around filming Lloyd in order to create some nice propaganda and make him a hero. Still, the battle animation was quite good, which shows how good the creator is. In my opinion, the show going for a funny story with less than perfect animation is a conscious decision. It’s clear that the author has what it takes to make a more serious story.

Lloyd didn’t have the character development I was expecting, though. Even if he became a little more confident in his skills, he continues to be as gullible as ever. But that’s Lloyd for you!
