Tonikaku Kawaii Episode 8 Discussion & Gallery

It’s amazing how Nasa is a combination of his parents. While he’s an airhead (but cute) like his mom, he clearly inherited his father’s love for ancient things. That’s right, Tsukasa finally met Nasa’s parents, and the episode was both funny and heartwarming. On the one hand, Nasa’s parents are a blast to watch – I couldn’t stop laughing every time they would overreact about something. On the other hand, the scene where Nasa’s father thanked Tsukasa for saving his son was quite wholesome. It was really well written, and it was easy for me to put myself in Nasa’s father’s shoes.

Meanwhile, Nasa and Tsukasa slept together for the first time (in the literal sense, of course). It was also a funny scene because of how realistic it was. The moment Nasa asked Tsukasa to sleep on his arm, I told my boyfriend, “That would be nice – to be able to have someone sleep like that without feeling discomfort”. But, as usual, Tonikaku Kawaii told me right there and then that its main purpose is to make fun of real things. So, it was just a matter of time that Nasa’s arm started to feel numb. Still, he got a kiss at the end, so I’m pretty sure he didn’t feel as bad for not being able to sleep with Tsukasa as he wanted.

If you read my last article, you know that I already had some suspicions about Tsukasa. After episode eight, I’m quite sure she’s immortal. Not only did she read an ancient letter at ease (Nasa’s father even commented how she was able to read that), but she also spoke about that historical building like she had lived in the era when it was built. I’m not sure what this is going to impact the main story, though. Hopefully, they’re still able to be together nonetheless? Now that I think about it, it would make sense why Tsukasa took a while to come back to marry Nasa – she was waiting that he reached adulthood. Now, I can’t wait to watch the next episode and see how they’re going to handle their house being burned down. I mean, Nasa prepared everything for this event, but you can only do so much when your house gets on fire while you’re on vacation.
