Yakusoku no Neverland Season 2 Episode 1 Discussion & Gallery

Yakusoku no Neverland was one of my favorite Anime shows coming out in 2019. I’m actually amazed how it took two years for it to get a second season. I mean, the manga ended in June of 2020, so I was expecting to see it in Fall Season’s lineup. But we all know how everything is being pushed back due to COVID, so I won’t dwell on this. Of course, I had high expectations for Yakusoku no Neverland Season Two first episode. Although I enjoyed the episode, the very first episode was far more overwhelming (in a good way, of course).

I know that the story is just a continuation of the first season, so it’s expected for it to be less shocking. Still, I didn’t feel the dark atmosphere that I enjoyed so much. It also didn’t help that I watched the first season two years ago – some vital information had already been deleted from my memory. For example, I had to stop the episode and check what was the book the characters had.

The forest was amazing, though. All the monsters and plants were quite creative, and if it wasn’t for the carnivorous monsters and the demons pursuing the children, I would be happy to watch the characters dwelling in there a bit more. What I wasn’t expecting was that the kids would be helped by demons. It never occurred to me that there could have been vegetarian demons or at least ones that aren’t ok with killing and eating ‘animals’ who can think by themselves.
