The Last Update – Let’s talk about… Money!
Hi everyone and welcome to our place! 🙂
It’s the last updat about all the changes and new ideas I came up during this hiatus month! 😀 Sorry, I know that this week it all have been about what I’ve done and what I’m going to do… Not really that much content per sais! But, well, I want to have transparency in everything I do in the blog! This is all for you, so it’s just normal I want to tell you what I’ve been doing to improve your stay! 😀
But, today, what I’m going to talk is more about myself and to improve my stay than yours! Nevertheless, take in mind that everything I’m going to explain further below was with you in mind! Again, I want to be completely transparent regarding everything, which also includes monetizing Arthifis’ Place!
I’ve been thinking about this for a while now (even before going in a hiatus)… However, only now I really had the time to think about it and get a strategy! So, here is the way I’m going to monetize my blog:
Ko-fi
We all know about this by now and I think it’s time to create my own profile! 🙂 The thing is pretty easy! If you want to help me and the blog you can go to my profile and buy me a coffee. Since I’m a heavy drinker of coffee I think it just makes sense, right?
The money from Ko-fi, at this point will be to buy a new headset for the twitch streams! 🙂 Afterwards it will be for a good camera (again, for the same purpose), and then let us see if we can for a computer so I can stream PC games ok? I know! It’s a lot and I’m not thinking that it will be enough to get the money for all of those things, but well, those will be the goals for the short, middle and long-term! 🙂

Yes, I finally thought of something that is good enough to ask you a monthly subscription for you to pay! 😀 However, I still haven’t started it ahah It is a secret project (for now)!
This way, I’m not going to create the patreon that soon. But, I wanted to tell you that I’m working on it and it will also be a way to get some money for the blog and my life in general!
Twitch
As you know, I’ll be starting streaming in the near future and well, I hope that I can also use that as a source of money! 🙂 But we will see! I know that I will need a lot of practice before my streams are interesting enough to even have people wanting to give me money! xD
Affiliate Links
The biggest change of them all! Yes, I’m going to have affiliate links in my blog! :3
How is this going to proceed? Well, I do have a lot of strategies towards this one! First of the company which I’ll be using these affiliate links will be Amazon. Of course, since you are from all around the World I will have accounts in different Amazons! I’ll have one for USA, other for Canada and a last one for Europe! Basically, the places where I get almost all of my views! :3
The idea is that you can come to my place and find action figures, games, manga, DVDs… I don’t know, you name it that you would be interested in buying! My added value will be that I will search the things and tell you what I think is a good purchase and this way making you gain time which you would spend browsing Amazon for yourself! 😀
These affiliate links will appear in many places in my blog:
I’ll be doing the featured goodie of the week where I just browse something I would like to buy and share it with you! One for Anime, other for Gaming! 🙂 It will come out in a post (so you can see it, of course) and then it will be in the sidebar for that week! The next week I’ll update everything and give you new awesome goodies! 😀
The second part will be a new page that I’m still designing! This one will take more time! The idea is to have a part in my blog where you can search for merchandize, for Anime and gaming likewise! Want an action figure from Naruto? Go there and you probably will find what you are looking for!
This one will be called Garage Sale (always with the home thematic xD) and I’ll talk more about it when it is, in reality, live! 😀
Last, but not the least, depending on the post I’m writing I may put some affiliate links at the end of it! Let’s I’m writing an Anime review, well I can add some merchandising from that said Anime in the end! It’s called cross selling, but I’ll save that word for later xD
So, yeah I’m going to try to monetize the blog! 🙂 First will be to cover the costs of the blog (I am going to upgrade to personal this week), afterwards it will be to improve the content I create and last, if everything goes well, the objective is to actually make money for me to live out of blogging! 😀
I know this will take a lot of time and I’m not going to wake up tomorrow morning rich or something like that! But, this is a necessary step to fulfill my dream! To write for you every single day in a full-time basis! 🙂

Always worth giving it all a shot! I keep meaning to set up a Ko-Fi myself. Is it an easy process?
Yes, it is! You do need a paypal, but all process took me like 15 minutes? Probably less
Well, I do have a paypal, so that’s a good start 🙂
Yeah! I still need to associate my credit/debit card to it 😛
I can’t imagine that’s too long a process now though, so that’s not too bad.

That could be fun! I stream on Sundays and Wednesdays, 9.30-10.30pm Eastern Time.
Hmmm that wouldn’t work for me! 😀 Portugal is, at the moment, 5 hours later than Eastern Time, so that would mean way too late for me >.< Ugh I hate time zones!!!
Ah too bad. Yeah, I thought that might be an issue. Maybe I can try an earlier time slot now and then? ? What days of the week do you think you’ll be streaming?
I’m thinking doing regularly mondays, tuesdays, wednesdays and thursdays. Depending on the time I have free I will also do on weekends from time to time 🙂
Wow, more power to you! I tried doing six days a week, but ultimately found it took too much time away from the blog…
To be honest I already play every single day xD the only difference is that I’ll be streaming instead of only playing xD I won’t be doing loooong streams, but well that’s what I can manage for now xp
I’m starting to see affiliate links more and more on blogs and I’ve got no problem with that at all—the more shopping, the merrier, plus I can help a friend out!
I think it’s the way you do it honestly! 😀 I see affiliate links as ways for you be able to do advertisement, but you chose what to show and where in the blog to show! 😀 Which is way better that the WordPress advertisements 😛
