2.43: Seiin Koukou Danshi Volley-bu Episode 7 Discussion & Gallery

I believe this was the first time 2.43: Seiin Koukou Danshi Volley-bu actually focused one episode mostly on a volleyball match. I know that there have been scenes where the characters are playing volleyball, but I think this was the first time the game was the episode’s focal point. Honestly, the game animation was well done, and the match was exciting to watch. I especially like that the characters’ plays are realistic – I can see some professionals playing like that and have similar shots when in slow motion.

Other than that, Kimichika finally had some plausible character development. It was endearing to see that the guy is starting to think twice about what he says to others. Like Yuni explained, it’s not about what he says but how he says it. Moreover, for once, I actually agree with him. If the team is serious about gaining the championship, then the best players need to be on the court. I understand that’s a bummer for Oda, who is a senior and will have to sit on the bench. However, from my experience when I played volleyball in high school, there are enough games for everyone to play and feel like part of the team. It’s true that Oda can’t do anything about his height, but it’s also true that he should place the team’s well-being in front of his pride.
