Yakusoku no Neverland Season 2 Episode 2 Discussion & Gallery
Yakusoku no Neverland episode two was surprisingly uneventful. It does make sense, though – the kids need time to learn survival skills to run from the demons who are hunting them. Two main scenes stood out. First, the one where Sonju explains more about the world Emma and Rai are living in. Until now, the kids (and us) thought they were either living in a future where demons/aliens had taken over or that they were in another world altogether. The truth is far worse, though. They’re living on Earth, but the reason why they’re being used as living stock is because of an agreement people made with the demons several millennia before. It’s scary thinking that humans would decide to come to terms with such evil beings and offer fellow humans as proof of good faith. Still, this can also be the light at the end of the tunnel for the kids, as they may find a way to reach the part of the world where are no demons whatsoever.
The second scene that had a huge impact on me was when Emma hunted her first animal. I’m from the countryside, so seeing people kill animals for food isn’t new to me (though I’m thankful that I never had to do it myself). However, I do understand Emma’s feelings – it’s not like she’s just a human killing to eat. By being treated as livestock herself, it’s just normal that she feels so grossed out for taking the life of another living being. Still, considering they’re still kids and they’ll need a lot of energy to run away, the kids can’t really afford to become vegetarian right now. Did you enjoy Yakusoku no Neverland’s episode two?
