Horimiya Episode 11 Discussion & Gallery

It’s impressive how Horimiya focuses on all characters. No one is put aside, and all of them get at least one episode to develop. This time around, most of the episode was about Shuu – a guy who’s completely different when he’s around friends.

Episode 11 was quite alright. There wasn’t really something that amazed me, but I enjoyed the full ride. While the scenes, in the beginning, were quite funny, Shuu and his sister’s relationship was mildly interested. I say ‘mildly’ because it’s the strangest relationship I’ve ever seen. Why is Shuu so serious towards his sister? He’s almost a jerk! Of course, that his sister thinks he hates her. Even when she’s crying about her grades, he doesn’t even pet her head or tries to comfort her. I don’t know – from all characters presented so far, these two just seem to have strange personalities for the plot’s sake. Hopefully, Horimiya will explain better why they act like this towards each other in the next episode.

Other than that, Horimiya showed (yet again) how well it’s able to capture teenagers’ relationships. Everything just looks and sounds so natural – especially when the Anime is showing Miyamura deepening his relationship with his friends. In just one word – I’m loving the Anime!
