Jujutsu Kaisen Episode 20 Discussion & Gallery

I’ve been praising Jujutsu Kaisen’s animation and battles’ dynamics for a while. But episode 20 clearly gets the trophy. It was, without a doubt, one of the best episodes so far, fighting-wise, that is.

The battle where Toudou and Itadori used the former’s substitution power was amazing. Not only was the animation the smoothest it could be, but even the background music set the pace in a terrific way. I was even more surprised to find out that Toudou is actually smart? People always say that geniuses are usually the odd ones around, so I guess that applies to Toudou, as well. There was a bit more conversation throughout this fight, though. And I really think that Jujutsu Kaisen loses a bit of its immersion by explaining powers as they go. For instance, if they already had explained sorcerers’ power spike beforehand, the Anime didn’t have to cut to Kento’s explanation mid-battle. Still, this is just a small nitpick in the beautiful direction this battle had.

Of course, I also have to comment on Satoru’s immense power. We already knew that he was strong, but it’s the first time the Anime really went overboard. I mean, the guy just ripped the Earth apart with his Jutsu and obliterated everything on its path. I wonder if that was even his full power. Honestly, I think there are some other hidden powers stored for us in the future. Finally, it’s kind of a shame that the fights ended so abruptly. I guess it makes sense, and it’s realistic – the curses had one objective, which they accomplished. So, it really doesn’t make sense for them to continue fighting. Considering that we’re almost at the end of the season, I’m curious to see what’s going to be the next arc about. Did you enjoy Jujutsu Kaisen’s episode 20? Tell me everything down below. ?
