Yakusoku no Neverland Season 2 Episode 11 (Final) Discussion & Gallery

For a second, Yakusoku no Neverland season two seemed that it was going to redeem itself. But then, a bunch of rushed scenes happened, and the Anime killed any possibility of having a season three.

I went to Yakusoku no Neverland’s final episode with zero expectations. As we know, the adaptation has, at best, been messy, and I knew the ending wouldn’t be fulfilling. We started with an average scene where Emma tries to convince the bad guy to redeem himself. She fails, and the guy ends up taking his own life. From there, the characters just go to the portal, open it, and it’s done! They have saved all the kids living on the farms. There were a few scenes that made me feel some emotions – like when Phil finally meets Emma, but for the most part, it was just the ‘let get this thing done’ type of episode.

What made me hope for a brighter future was the scene where Emma reveals that the protagonists will be staying behind to save everyone else, including the kids living in mass production farms. Honestly, it was the perfect twist, and while I was watching the scenes with the saved children living normal lives, I started to feel hyped about the adventures we could still enjoy in a possible third season.

But then, the Anime shows those ‘adventures’ in two minutes with a bunch of stilled images. Basically, it just seemed something that was added last minute. As if the studio understood how bad Yakusoku no Neverland’s season two was, and they had decided to drop the show. Each scene gave a blow to my hope, which was ultimately crushed at the end of the episode when we see Emma and all others coming to the human world. After some research, I learned that the original source also ends in a drastic manner. But, for an adaptation that strayed away so much from the original, they really decided to follow the material in the worst possible moment.

In conclusion, Yakusoko no Neverland’s episode 11 was the same as the full adaptation – bad! It’s a shame since the Anime had everything to become one of the most popular of all time.
