2.43: Seiin Koukou Danshi Volley-bu Episode 5 Discussion & Gallery

2.43: Seiin koukou Danshi Volley-bu drama is becoming so random that I’m having a hard time following it through. At the beginning of episode five, the protagonists start an argument that blows way out of proportion. It ends with Yuni saying Kimichika to go back to Tokyo, which is then completely brushed off by the Anime. The episode just jumps off to a scene where they both riding a train to Tokyo, and you can’t really understand what’s happening. On top of that, this argument is only hinted back almost at the end of the episode every so slightly. Maybe the scene will have a higher impact on future episodes, but it just seemed a waste of time for now.

The episode then goes over Kimichika visiting his previous volleyball club to come to terms with the guy who tried to commit suicide because of him. It seems that everything was a lie, and Kimichika’s team members just did this to drive Kimichika away from the team. What a sick thing to do! I wonder if this is something that would happen in real life… There are people for everything, but faking your own suicide just seems to cross way too many lines. Especially considering that the main motive for the guy who did it was to leave Volleyball.

The story ended on a better note, though. Kimichika meets his previous couch, who puts some sense into him, and the protagonists’ senpais call to tell them that they’re going to be able to play, after all. Like we ever suspected that anything else would happen. Honestly, for an Anime that is quickly getting to its middle stages, I expected more of 2.43: Seiin koukou Danshi Volley-bu.
