Beastars Season 2 Episode 4 Discussion & Gallery
Beastars is just getting better with each episode. Not only are Legoshi and Louis becoming more complex and entertaining to follow, but even the world setting is getting darker. On top of that, smaller characters like Jack have their own screen time to show that you don’t need to be a protagonist to have a three-dimensional personality.
I’m thrilled to see that the creators have taken the time to explain how Louis is being able to pretend he’s eating meat. In the last episode, I mentioned that herbivores wouldn’t have the stomach to handle meat, so it felt right to have a scene where Louis throws up after having dinner. On the other hand, I was kind of happy to see one of the lions bringing him a salad… I know they’re part of the bad guys, but it does feel inspiring to see an herbivore being treated with such respect by their predator.
Meanwhile, the scene in the dance club also portrayed well how the rotten world of Beastars works. I liked especially listening to the herbivore’s thoughts while she was dancing. I really couldn’t care less about what you do for a living (except if you put others at risk), but it was great to find myself seeing the world from a perspective that I would never have. Finally, I’m curious to see how Legoshi’s training is going to work and why Juno came looking for Louis (or how did she know where he was at). Did you enjoy Beastars season two, episode four?
