Higurashi no Naku Koro ni Episode 5 Discussion & Gallery
Before I even start writing my opinion on Higurashi no Naku Koro ni Gou, a small comment. I found out that this isn’t a remake of the original as initially advertised. The main proof of that is Riku’s scene in episode 2 where she says that she has been going over the same events for over a hundred years. Basically, it seems that this season is actually a sequel. Still, the creators say that it’s a version where newcomers will be able to understand and enjoy, so I’ll continue to watch it without checking the earlier titles to see whether that’s true or not.
After the last episode’s turn of events, I expected that the Anime would go back in time. That’s the main thing about Higurashi, right? So, it was an enjoyable slice-of-life episode where the main characters participated in a board game championship. For the most part, that was it. But, it seems this arc won’t spend much time beating around the bush. The episode focused on the next character right away – Mion – and her double life. I mean, maybe Shion really exists, but I find it very hard to believe. We also got a glimpse of another curious aspect. While the first arc was focused entirely on Rena and her relationship with the Deity, here we have all citizens coming at Keiichi’s rescue when he’s attacked by some punks. It almost seemed that they were like zombies who will protect anyone in distress nearby without a second thought.
It caught my interest – I’ll give you that. And I’m pretty curious to see how this arc is going to evolve. In the intro, Mion and Shion appear together, so I’m guessing that Mion’s double life may bring some mental instability to the character. We’ll see. Did you enjoy Higurashi no Naku Koro ni Gou’s episode 5? Tell me everything down below. ?
I’ll be adding new galleries throughout the season as new episodes come out. Enjoy! If you have a website and want to use one of my images, feel free to do so ? I’ll be happy if you backlink to this article, but it’s not mandatory ?
