Jaku-Chara Tomozaki-kun Episode 3 Discussion & Gallery

I’m starting to wonder if Jaku-Chara Tomozaki-kun is going too far on how appearances matter. I understand that people wear stylish clothes and go to the hair salon… But aren’t you supposed to win at life by being yourself? Tomozaki just got completely depersonalized throughout this episode. He had a nice character design and now just seems equal to every other high school male character. Yeah – I didn’t like that transformation at all. I agree that we should take care of ourselves, but it should be for us – not because it’s ‘sociable acceptable’.

I’m also completely against Tomozaki trying to date Fuuka by faking interest in the things she likes. ‘Being cute’ isn’t a personality trait, and people shouldn’t think about dating someone just because they’re pretty. Things get even worse when Tomozaki pretends he has been reading the books Fuuka likes. I mean, she goes as far as asking him to read the novel she’s writing – something you can clearly see it’s extremely important for her. I imagine that many people will end up upset because of the quests Aoi is giving to Fumiya.

I’m completely ok with the posture and expression exercises, though. They make sense, and they completely change the game when you’re trying to be social. One of the most important things to be a social magnet is looking confident and having a good posture, smiling, and being expressive are essential. However, the Anime lost me completely when the protagonists started to play with people’s feelings. Hopefully, the author’s main objective is to show that – playing pretend doesn’t make anyone happy.
