Jaku-Chara Tomozaki-kun Episode 9 Discussion & Gallery

Jaku-Chara Tomozaki-kun seems to really go with the route of having the protagonist dating Kikuchi just for the sake of it. I feel bad for the girl, as she’s going to certainly get hurt in the process. Aoi might be developing into a fine woman, but she still needs to understand an important factor in this game we call life – people’s emotions matter. It’s not ok to just do whatever you need to become popular, rich, or successful. Empathy is an important personality trait to have, and hopefully, the female protagonist will understand this before the season finale.

At least, episode nine already seemed to hint that not all the advice Aoi is giving is worth following. However, since Kikuchi has self-confidence issues and doesn’t clearly explain the problem, Tomozaki-kun might take some time to realize that following Aoi’s themes are not always the best conversation starters. The thing is – one of the most important things for someone to be endearing is to be their own self. Although personality brings troubles, sometimes it’s what makes someone to be a social magnet. Of course, you should have the humility to understand that you’re always a work-in-progress who needs to improve yourself on a daily basis.

Even so, the episode was fun to watch. I liked both the try-out and the actual dates Tomozaki-kun went to. I always love this type of Summer-ish episode that makes me want to go outside and have a good time. Unfortunately, we’re in lockdown at the moment (in the country I live, at least).
