Mushoku Tensei Episode 2 Discussion & Gallery

I was actually impressed with the backstory they created for Rudy. I never expected such a cute Anime following a powerful magician boy like Mushoku Tensei to dwell into something so heavy, such as bullying. I mean, the scene where Rudy’s past self was completely naked while his colleagues were taking pictures of him was disturbing. The worse part is that I know that some people have gone through similar events, which makes me so incredibly sad. Honestly, Rudy does deserve to have a second chance, especially considering that he ended up dying while saving someone from being struck by a car even after going through so much. His story was incredibly well written, and I’m happy to see that he was able to overcome his fear of going outside.

Still, the Anime didn’t need the fanservice at all! I kind of understand the scenes where Rudy tries to see Roxy’s underwear and stuff like that. But was that scene where Roxy is masturbating really necessary? Or is it that important to have Rudy overhear his parents having sex all the time? Don’t get me wrong, there are stories where fanservice makes complete sense. Even in stories where fanservice doesn’t have a place, there are still scenes where it makes sense to have some fanservice. But this scene with Roxy was just too much. It’s a shame, though. I wouldn’t have anything bad to say about this episode if not for that.

Even so, I love the relationship that Rudy and Roxy developed over the two episodes. You can clearly see they’ve bonded throughout the episodes, and more than a pupil-master relationship, they’ve become good friends. Now that Rudy is a full-fledged sorcerer, I can’t wait to see the adventures he’ll undertake. Hopefully, it will take him a few years – he’s just five, after all.
