Sk8 the Infinity Episode 3 Discussion & Gallery

I’m still not watching Sk8 the Infinity for the plot, but I’ll have to say that I enjoyed watching Miya’s story. Although it’s a basic backstory to give to a character – friends stop hanging with the guy because he’s a pro, which makes him become obnoxious towards other people as a protective shield – it gave some layers to the character.

Surprisingly, although a RekixLanga ship as a fanfic would be terrific, it’s one of the first Animes of this genre where I don’t really want the protagonists to be an item on the main story. There’s a thin line between best friends and a gay couple, but I believe the author was able to create an excellent balance. While my heart melts when Reki and Langa have a cuter moment, I still believe they’re straight, and it makes sense for them to be that way. It’s not like 2.43, where the protagonists act towards each other the same way a couple from a romantic comedy would.

I don’t understand much about skating, but isn’t Langa’s skateboard a bit too much? I mean, I love the design, and the moves he was able to do because of it were brilliant. But I’m guessing such an upgraded board wouldn’t be accepted on a pro-level. Still, considering that Cherry Blossom uses a skateboard with an incorporated Siri, maybe I’m wrong.
