What I’ve Been Doing For The Past Month
Hello everyone and welcome to our shelter! 🙂
To be honest, I’m writing this post I’m extremely eager to start writing again! As you probably have read, I decided to stop blogging for a while because I was looking for a new job. Unfortunately, you will not find the post on the website at the moment. Since my website is an important asset to have in my CV, I decided to take out my rumblings about my present job and life in general. Those posts will come back in a proper time.
Anyways, I have great news! I got a new job! I believe that stepping aside from the website helped on that! To be honest, it’s not about the writing itself, but more about all the other stuff you need to do. The thing is, even when I’m not writing I’m thinking about what to do next, or better in the blog. Yeah, I’m that serious with this safe place we are all building.
But, well… I wanted to have a remote job where I would be doing full-time copywriting. And, I got just that! I’ll be writing articles where I review different software programs, 8 hours a day, 5 days a week, from home. I can’t express how excited I am! Honestly, I’m also a tiny bit stressed out about working fully remotely since it’s the first time doing it. Nevertheless, I believe it’s going to be something I’m gonna love doing and I will learn a lot about writing reviews. Something that I’m sure I will apply in the Anime Shelter.
Am I Going To Come Back Right Away?
The small answer is no. As Biblio told on her self-care Sunday post, it’s important that when you do have breaks that they are structured. Meaning, just don’t go random on and off when it comes to breaks, but have a sort of plan about it. Something that Irina also reinforced on her blog post in Karandi’s blog.
I agree with this and, when I went on hiatus, I had planned to come back only when the Summer Anime Season starts (with a new job or not). Fortunately, I was able to get a job before that and I won’t have to balance everything all together when it comes to the day I come back. However, although I can’t wait to come back to the active, I decided to stick with my plan and only come back next month.
The main reason is, I lost track of the Anime coming out this season. This means that to get back now, I would have to put a lot of workload to be able to write all the first impressions and the Ultimate Seasonal Guide. Something that I believe won’t be really that good for someone who has been in a hiatus around for a month. I prefer to start fresh in the Summer Season. Sorry guys >.< But that’s how it is!
But, there is more! With this hiatus, I was finally able to get my hands in some subjects that I have been postponing for a while. One of them is, of course, the Anime Shelter Shop. I was able to get into a new affiliate program, Displate. Heck, you can even read my review of them here!
I’ve also been able to get my hands in some games I’ve been dying to play. I finally played the Zero Escape trilogy which I loved. And, at the moment, I’m playing Dragon Quest 11 & Uncharted games in the PS4 while on Pc I’m playing a great strategy game called Northgard.
On top of that, I’ve been working on my mental health! I’m not experiencing anxiety/depression. However, I knew that my mental state, taking everything into accordance, was not in the best place! Although things are good, I started to feel the first lights of depression/anxiety. This way, I also took my time to do some self-care and it’s working! At least, I’m pushing myself to smile and laugh more and not be so uptight.
Oh, and almost forgot, I also did my very first Anime Youtube video! I’m still not sure if I will continue to do it, or not… Buuut, it’s something that I’m trying to figuring out 😛
Truth is, my current job is not an easy one. Who would have thought that managing is hard, right?
Things I’ll Be Doing Until I Come Back
It may happen that I come back and write one post here and there. I mean, that’s what happened with my Zero Trilogy review. But, my main focus will still be the shop.
As you probably know, I’m doing an e-commerce affiliate shop and guys, although I don’t need to write as much as when it comes to the blog, it does take time! Especially because it’s the first e-commerce website I’ve ever created which makes me go and learn new stuff, which takes time.
I really wanted to come back with the affiliate shop completely done, but I think that won’t be possible. My main goal with the affiliate shop is that whoever visits, will be able to find a place where you can find everything you could think of when you think about Anime merch. At the moment, I only have some pieces of clothing and wall wart which means I’m far from my objective.
I want to make sure you get good quality products and, of course, companies that ship worldwide. If we can get some promo codes so that you save some money, even better. Basically, I want the affiliate shop to be the place to go when looking for anything Merch related. You can think about it as the Amazon focused in Anime if you want. Of course, such a big objective will take time, but we will get there, eventually 🙂 It would help a lot if you left a comment down below giving ideas of stuff that you would like to have in the shop 🙂
More than that, I will continue to… Just rest! Play videogames, what some Anime that I really want to watch, watch some series that I’ve been putting aside for years now. Spend quality time with my boyfriend and family. In a few words, I will be focusing on being happy 🙂 Of course, I will be working inside my current company full time until August and, therefore, I will still have a lot of headaches.
What About You?
I’ve been trying to stick with post reading and follow your excellent work. But, I have to say that, it has not been easy! So, how are you doing? What have you been doing for the past month? Tell me all in the comments!
And, yes, I know I have a lot of comments to answer, I’ll do my best to come back to those the fastest as I can! Now that the job search is out of the way, I finally have more time to do it 🙂
