Goodbye 2018, Hello 2019!

Goodbye 2018, Hello 2019!

Hello everyone and welcome to our place!

I wasn’t able to write this up earlier, but I wanted to review my 2018 and share it with you guys! Since the Winter Season is coming, it starts tomorrow, I will be writing so many first episode reviews, first impressions and writing the Ultimate Guide again that I’m pretty sure that I won’t have the time to write this up. This way, today is gonna be the day!

I won’t be talking about stats, I did that not so long ago when our place turned 1-year-old. But, if you are interested to know, you can do it here. I will be talking about my personal life, professional life and, of course blogging throughout the year.

Life In General

I would say 2018 was a calm year when it comes to my personal life. To be honest, thank god for that! My family is somewhat ok and my boyfriend and I are probably even more closed than before.

There’s not really much to talk about, to be honest. Fortunately, I didn’t have any kind of health problems, neither my family. Probably the thing that has changed was that now my mother, brother and I always play board games when I go visit on the weekend which is pretty cool.

As my personal goals… Well, I’ll have to say that I’m still far away from what I wanted to accomplish in 2018. I do believe that my writing skills did improve a lot, which is nice. But, to be honest, I think I hit some kind of wall when it comes to self-improvement. It’s not that I don’t want to, it’s just that I don’t have the time I need to do it.

Moreover, I am starting to think that to improve my digital marketing skills I will have to go and take some kind of work. At this point, the Internet does not really have much more to teach me, at least from free sources. I’ve studied and learned a lot and, at this point, I’m looking for something more in-depth…

So, for 2019, my objective is to improve my Social Media skills as also continuing to improve my writing skills. In a personality level, I want to try and be less uptight with things and be more positive overall… Let’s see if I’m able to do it xD

Professional Life

2018 was a great year for professional development. As you probably know, I got my job as a Digital Marketer at the end of 2019. It was a year of trying new things and just be working as a manager instead of an intern. To be honest, I’m very happy with what I was able to learn and do… However, at the same time, after 1 year working in the same company, I believe it’s time to pursue new objectives.

Due to blogging, I’ve decided that I will be the happiest as a copywriter. Basically, take out the management part of my daily functions and be a content writer 8 hours a day, 5 days a week. So, for 2019, my objective is to get this kind of job. There are 2 main “industries” that I will be trying for, blogging type of websites (of course) and marketing agencies. Of course, the gaming industry still interests me… A LOT. But, after months trying, I came to the conclusion that it just not gonna happen. Unless I was ok with working abroad, which I’m not.

Blogging

Anime blogging 2019

The part I’m sure you are most interested ๐Ÿ™‚ Out with the old, in with the new is the perfect phrase for the beginning of 2019 when it comes to blogging. As you know, I just moved to a self-host and you are now reading this under the Anime Shelter website and not the Arthifis one.

I think I’ve talked about this many times throughout the year, but 2018 was a great year when it comes to blogging. No, I still don’t have enough traffic to be called an influencer… I also don’t have gained any money with it. Nevertheless, it was an incredibly fun year and I can only thank for all the friendships and collabs I’ve done throughout the year. Arthifis.com changed my life (for the best) and you are a huge part of it, of course!

But, now it’s time to think about the future. In fact, I talked a little bit about this when I wrote the first post here at Anime Shelter. I wanted to have everything up and running before 2019 started and I’m happy that I did it. There are still some posts to review and rewrite as also changing some of the tags and putting everything together. Fun… I know >.< Nevertheless, the major part is done.

Even though it took some work it was worth it! I’m really happy that I was able to make things in a way for this to be appearing on your reader as also you being able to like posts as before. It’s true that the commenting system is not as “easy” as before. But, truth is, this one is way better than the Jetpack one.

Blogging – Objectives

There are already some objectives that were able to complete which make me really excited for the year coming to us.

Things that I’m really excited are the newsletter! (It’s somewhere in the sidebar) With this, I will be able to send you an email with the round-up of my posts instead of Jetpack sending you automatic emails everytime I post something… It does get spammy that way!

Another thing is starting to work with affiliate links from J-List. I think it will be way better than the Amazon ones. Moreover, I now have a code that will give you 5% off from anything you buy there (the code isย MOE-EOJ-ZU4SVG – I have to find a way to change that code though xD)

We all win!

The overall objective continues to be the same though… Be able to get some money from the blog in a way that I will be able to do it as my full-time job. Of course, I know this is not something that will happen in a year, neither in 2 xD

So, when it comes to more achievable goals, I want to grow my newsletter contacts… Basically, it’s another way of following me. I also want to improve the SEO of the site by talking about more hot topics… In this case Seasonal Anime. Moreover, I also want to take more time on Pinterest. For me, it seems to be a social media platform with great potential but I still haven’t got the time to work on it… Last, but not the least, I would be really happy that I would be able to make enough money during the year to pay the website. So, basically, the goal is to make 180$ during the year xD
