Top 3 Reasons Why You Should Watch ID:INVADED
Hello everyone and welcome to our shelter! Today we’re going over the excellent psychological Anime – ID:INVADED. I have to tell you, unlike last seasons, the 2020 Winter Season has been massive.
ID:INVADED follows a group of detectives who focus on arresting serial killers. However, the main goal is to find John Walker: the source for all the serial killers in the world. To do so, the detectives invade these criminal’s sub-conscience by entering their ID well. There, our main character, Sakaido, has the job to understand how the criminal’s mind works to find clues pinpointing where the serial killer is. At the same time, he tries to understand why the criminal started to mass murder people.
Top 3 Reasons Why You Should Watch ID:INVADED
1 – A Psychological Story That’s Actually Good
There are various psychological Animes out there. Unfortunately, most of them fall flat after a few episodes. Although they’re able to pick people’s interest in the first episode or so, the truth is that after a while things start to stagger. In fact, it seems the creators don’t know how to fill the 12 episodes and just end up adding some uninteresting fillers.
However, that’s not what is going to happen with ID:INVADED. This, because the creators had the intelligent idea of adding small mysteries inside of a bigger one. The thirst three episodes were exciting and we only watched the mystery behind each serial killer. At the same time, hints about John Walker are shown, but nothing is really developed. This way, ID:INVADED is able to keep our interest for the final reveal while still enjoying smaller mysteries every single episode. But it’s not only Jonh Walker that needs explanation – even the main character is an enigma. We only know that his family died when he was too busy on his career to be there for them. But, more than that (such as why he lives incarcerated) is still unknown.
2 – Different Sub-Consciences Every Single Episode
Each person has its own mind. Serial killers are no different. This way, every single episode we’re sent to an entirely new world, completely different from the last one. Furthermore, since serial killers typically have disturbed minds, the environments are always intriguing to watch.
Because of this, each episode is a voyage. We are never sure of what’s going to happen, but we can be assured that it’s going to be spectacular. Of course, there is a common aspect on all of the sub-consciences: the appearance of Kaeru, which is the representation of Sakaido’s daughter. At least, on his mind. Kaeru is there for two purposes. First, since Sakaido always have amnesia when he enters another’s conscience, she’s there to remind him of who he is. Second, she’s there to help him, and us, the viewers, to solve the puzzle.
That’s right, the Anime gives enough clues for us to put the pieces together before the main character. For example, in episode three, my boyfriend said right away that Kaeru was pointing to the shooter. Not sure how he did that, though xD
3 – There’s Never a Dull Moment
Episodes usually show two perspectives: the one happening inside the serial killer’s brain, and what’s actually happening in the real world. Because of this, there’s always something happening: a mystery to solve, an action scene, gore, or just straight horror.
I would say it’s the perfect mix. While I’m watching ID:INVADED, the twenty minutes just fly away. Hopefully, the Anime will be able to continue this pace throughout the season. It’s an Anime that you need to be concentrated to understand what’s happening, though. So, if you were looking to do some multitasking while watching ID:INVADED, I advise you not 😛
